Ironjin
Privacy policy
Last updated 16 August 2026
Ironjin is a strength-training log. This policy says what we collect, why, and what
you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so it is
short.
What we collect
| Data |
Why |
|
Email address, and your name if you sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft
|
To create and secure your account. Handled by our authentication provider,
Clerk.
|
| A display name you choose |
So other people in your Dojo see a name rather than an identifier. |
| Whether you are an adult |
An age gate. We store a yes/no, never your date of birth.
|
| Your timezone |
So "today" means your today, not a server's. |
| Your training: exercises, sets, reps, effort ratings, load, duration |
It is the product. This is the log. |
| Equipment you have access to, and how often you want to train |
To suggest sessions you can actually do. |
| Injuries or joints you tell us to work around |
To offer gentler movements instead. Self-reported only — see below. |
What we deliberately do not collect
-
No weight, height, BMI or body composition. Not stored, not
asked, not inferred. This is a design decision, not an oversight.
- No before/after photos and no body imagery of any kind.
- No date of birth. The age gate is a boolean.
-
No background location. The app never tracks where you are. If
gym features are added, a check-in will always be a button you press.
-
No advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share your data
with advertisers.
About the health information you give us
If you tell us about an injury or a joint to be careful with, that is a
symptom you reported — not a diagnosis, and not a medical record. We use it
only to change which movements the app offers you. It is never shown to other users,
and it is never used to rank or compare you.
Who else sees it
- Clerk handles sign-in and holds your email address.
- Neon hosts the database, in Sydney, Australia.
-
Vercel runs the small server that creates your profile when you
sign up.
Nobody else. We do not sell your data, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK
in the app.
What other users can see
Your display name, and your training totals within a group you have joined. Your
profile is private by default.
Your injuries, your individual sessions and anything about where you train are
never visible to another user.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, at any time, without asking us. It
removes your personal information immediately. You can also
request deletion from the web.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, and under the GDPR if you are in the UK or EU, you
can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email
privacy@ironjin.com and we will respond
within 30 days.
Children
Ironjin is not intended for children under 13, and the app asks you to confirm you
are an adult before you can use it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the app will tell you and ask you
to read it again rather than quietly updating a date at the top.
